When an aspiring recording artist arrives home to Brooklyn with plans on taking her hot producer out for a night on the town, her mother and sister interrupt their date with a puppet show rehearsal that tests her ability to prove she really is a cool rockstar, not a nerdy puppeteer like her past suggests.
Miranda’s plans are going swimmingly: not only is she recording her debut album with a talented and hot producer named Dameon, but she has the opportunity to show him around NYC with fantastic dinner and live music. The snag? After Miranda arrives home and invites Dameon to meet at her apartment, they are interrupted by her mother and sister who are in the middle of rehearsing a puppet show for the annual puppetry convention that weekend. Desperate to hide her past involvement and talents in the world of puppetry, Miranda attempts to leave the apartment with Dameon unscathed, only to be roped into the current production her mother and sister are performing. Can Miranda continue to run from her past, or must she confront the truth head on and deal with the consequences later?
