Millennials is a dramedy that portrays life without filters, with sharp realism, emotional depth, and an ironic gaze on the complexities of the modern generation. The series explores toxic relationships, sexuality, mental health, loneliness, family bonds, and the impact of social media, delving into the uncertainties of young adults caught between friendships, betrayals, and complicated love affairs.
At the center of the story is Irene (Julia Liros), an ironic and passionate young woman trapped in a toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend Michael (Gaetano Marsico), marked by psychological and physical abuse, manipulation, and emotional dependency. Around her intertwine the stories of Giovanni (Matteo Germinario), brilliant and sharp, seeking love in the wrong places while facing his family’s rejection of his homosexuality; Anna (Angelica Pisilli), a social media star torn between her perfect online image and a hidden eating disorder; and Michele (Derli Do Rosario Soares), an introverted digital hater who uses anger as a shield, but begins to question himself after his encounter with Anna.
Four main stories intertwine with those of recurring characters, including the celebrated actor Luis Molteni (Nino) in one of his final performances, to whom the series pays tribute.
